The Inter-American Defense College has a specialized library that serves the students, faculty, and staff of Inter-American Defense Board  and College.  In mid - 2001 the IADC library through an academic agreement between the National Defense Univ. NDU and The Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies CHDS  transferred all its books to the NDU library in order to improve the access and quality of both collections and its databases. 

The IADC Library, has approximately 10,000 hand bound volumes and over 200 periodicals subscriptions from countries of the Americas. The collection includes works in the three official languages of the Organization of American States (OAS): Spanish, English, Portuguese. It focuses on a wide range of subjects including: security matters, conflict resolution, peacekeeping, humanitarian demining, military and defense affairs, politics, social studies, economics, environmental issues and transnational threats such as terrorism, narcotics, crime, and arms smuggling. The library also houses Monographs, committee reports, country studies, and serves as the depository for official publications of the Inter-American Defense College.
